Global Social Impact Programs
Introduction:
USC Marshall is training and preparing global business leaders who, quite simply, make a difference in the world. We encourage our students to travel the globe to gain new experiences and to understand the role social entrepreneurs play in society and the key challenges they face. We established partnerships with Global Business Brigades in Panama and Ghana and Think Impact in Kenya and South Africa so that our students gain skills in achieving social change with a global mindset.
Global Business Brigades (GBB) – Week-long Global Service Learning Program:
With a passion for change, GBB strives to provide business consulting and strategic investment to support under resourced microenterprises in Panama and Ghana (new location in 2011!). Selected students have the opportunity to participate in a week-long service learning experience and they work with a local micro-enterprise to improve the success and sustainability of the business. This includes living in the rural community for a week, learning about the business, and using business skills to help with marketing, operations, finance, and accounting. Brigade members will work directly with micro-enterprise members, prepare and present workshops, and spend a few days exploring nearby metropolitan areas.

Think Impact - Summer Social Entrepreneurship Internship Program:
The USC Marshall School of Business has teamed with ThinkImpact to offer summer social entrepreneur internships via their Innovation Institute Scholars Program in Kenya and South Africa.
ThinkImpact builds social businesses in rural Africa by taking people like you to live and work with community entrepreneurs. You will identify and evaluate supply chains, and develop a socially innovative business plan. You will learn through an asset-based community development curriculum, and unleash the potential at the base of the pyramid creating jobs, products and services that change lives.
