Areas of Interest at USC Marshall:
1. Marketing Promotions
2. Building Community
3. School Spirit
4. Professional Development
5. Entertainment Industry
What Made You Choose to Attend USC Marshall?
One major reason why I chose USC Marshall was the incredible opportunity to go on a freshman international trip. The unique chance to visit another country as a freshman and learn about globalization from a different perspective is unlike any other program at other schools.
Advice you wish you had known while applying to college:
You will be fine. Do not stress. There will be a college or university that will want you. It’s way more important to be yourself in your application and find the right “fit” for you than it is to try to impress someone else by getting into a “better” school and then you end up unsatisfied there.
USC activities/general hobbies:
I am involved in many different clubs and organizations here on campus. I am on leadership for Cru, a large Christian organization at USC. I also work for the Viterbi Graduate School of Engineering in their Marketing department. We take students who are interested in Viterbi and we organize their information and demographics to better cater to prospective students. In addition to these, I enjoy frequent trips to Disneyland, playing guitar, training for a marathon, watching sports, and eating.
Why do you love Los Angeles?
I love Los Angeles not just because of the beautiful weather year round but also for the diversity represented here. The evidence of so many cultures can be found in Los Angeles through the wide variety of food, activities, and art. In addition to cultural diversity, the greater Los Angeles area is home to plenty of professional diversity. Especially for business students, the accessibility to so many different business fields, ranging from entertainment to finance to urban planning, is unique to this area.
Share a definitive freshman moment at USC:
I will always remember the first football game of my freshman year. As much as I had seen USC football on TV you cannot get an accurate picture of how many people cram into the Coliseum on game day. The overwhelming sense of school pride on that first football game day really solidified my place in the Trojan Family.
Favorite USC Marshall class:
My favorite USC Marshall class was BUAD302, Business Communication. We practiced interviewing; we analyzed and fine-tuned our presentation skills; and we learned tips on how to write a resume. The practicality of this class is useful for any future career or business encounters.
