What Made You Choose to Attend USC Marshall?
The Trojan Network. The alumni at USC are incredibly helpful and are willing to help you get ahead in your career just because you are a Trojan. Having that resource made a huge difference when I was applying to colleges.
International Opportunities. USC Marshall offers SO many international opportunities. I have the opportunity to work, study and volunteer abroad! I love that Marshall incorporates and emphasizes globalization in academics.
Advice you wish you had known while applying to college:
Be yourself! In college, there are a lot of diverse people who come from different countries and have different interests, so don’t be afraid to be yourself because you are bound to find people who have the same hobbies as you!
USC activities/general hobbies:
My USC activities include the Hawaii Club and Chinese American Student Association. I’m a kid at heart so I love to collect toys, comics and figurines. I love attending musical festivals and exploring new places to eat!
Why do you love Los Angeles?
There are so many diverse foods around Los Angeles. The taco trucks around USC are AMAZING as well as other fine eateries. A short drive will take you to Little Tokyo, Chinatown and Little Armenia! Plus, Los Angeles hosts many festivities such as the Los Angeles Film Festival or the Los Angeles County Fair so you’ll never be bored!
Share a definitive freshman moment at USC:
When I entered the stadium of my first football game, I was blown away. Everyone was intensely dressed in cardinal red and some were even dressed as Tommy Trojan! I had never seen such a spirited and energetic crowd. When the Trojan marching band and the USC football players entered the stadium, the whole crowd yelled FIGHT ON and cheered to the USC anthem! USC football games are truly an extraordinary experience.
Favorite USC Marshall class:
BUAD 302-Communication Strategies in Business. This class was particularly my favorite because it was the most hands-on class I had ever experienced. I was able to practice my interview skills with other students and present in front of the class every week. I would watch the recorded presentations to understand the areas of communication that I needed to improve on. My public speaking and my presentation skills have greatly improved due to this class.
