Areas of Interest at USC Marshall:
Global traveler/explorer; Entertainment [television] industry job hopeful; School-spirited; Professional and social involvement through student organizations; Real-world applications of academics
What made you choose USC Marshall?
The BCA program, the school spirit, the future opportunities and the AMAZING scholarships I received. They all are equally what got me here. The BCA program is a very unique program that was not available at any of the other schools I applied to. I knew that both Business and Cinema were important to me, and here at USC, I could get the best of both worlds and have such a diverse curriculum. I love spirited campuses and USC always showed that to me whenever I visited. I knew I wanted to be part of the Trojan Family, where it would be for not only for years, but for a lifetime.
In addition, I really liked the Business program at Marshall because it fosters international cooperation through numerous international programs – I’ve gone to Melbourne, Australia and Shanghai, China through Marshall - and it is a four year business program!
Advice you wish you had known while applying to college:
Be aware of what classes can transfer to your college, so you can take summer classes at a local community college before you begin. This way you will have credits out of the way so you have time to pick up another major, minor, study abroad, or just take fun classes.
USC activities / general hobbies:
- Marshall Student Ambassadors (MSA)
-Trojan Entertainment Connection (TEC)
-Neon Tommy -Trojan Vision
-Blackstonians Pre-Law Honor Society
-BCA mentor
-Residential AdvisorWhy do you love Los Angeles?
Because there's so much to do, it's never quiet here. There is so much culture, movies, television, arts, music, etc. to take part in. I find that extremely fascinating. Not to mention, the weather is usually pretty good!y pretty good!
Share a definitive USC freshman moment:
Going abroad to Shanghai, China during Spring Break through the Global Leadership Program (GLP). We were able to visit many Chinese businesses, explore the city, meet Chinese students and learn about the culture. It was amazing because all 60+ of us had a great time and memories that we still reminisce over today!
Favorite USC Marshall class:
BUAD 302: Communication Strategy in Business. I enjoyed this class because I feel like it made me a stronger public speaker and interviewee. It’s important to know how to communicate effectively and I think sometimes people get too focused on the quantitative aspect of business. But you couldn't do any of that without good communication skills, which is what this class taught me.
