Why did you choose Marshall?
I really enjoyed the community when I came for a class visit. I was impressed how friendly everyone was and what a great atmosphere USC had to offer. Additionally, I wanted to get into the Media/Entertainment industry and I thought there was no better place than LA.
What surprised you the most about Marshall?
The pace and intensity of the first semester classes. Everything goes quickly and time management is crucial. Between classes, studying, career management, student organizations, and getting to know your classmates, your schedule fills up quickly.
Favorite USC Marshall Core Class:
Contemporary Issues in Competitive Strategy and Marketing.
Favorite USC Marshall experience:
All of the social events. Between orientation week, tailgates, and the Challenge for Charity (C4C) events, it's been really fun getting to know everyone at Marshall.
What you wish you knew before attending business school?
Business school is a great experience, but it's still a lot of work. A lot of time is spent in classes, working in groups, and studying. Additionally, focusing on your career is like taking an additional class as well. Between those items and any student organizations you get involved with, your schedule can be very busy. Time management skills are critical in addition to being able to know how to prioritize items when you have a lot on your plate.
