Finance / Analyst
What industry do you plan on entering?
High-Tech / Product Management or Consulting
Why did you choose Marshall?
I chose Marshall for 3 key reasons: the small program size, the USC Trojan Network and the school's location. The small program size translates to a very cohesive and collaborative culture, the broader Trojan Network provides tremendous life-long professional leverage and the Los Angeles location makes Marshall a melting point of tastes, sounds and sights.
What surprised you the most about Marshall?
When they say its friendly and collaborative, it really is, no joke! Hailing from India, I was attuned to a super-competitive academic environment, so I was very pleased with the amount of voluntary collaboration that takes place at Marshall.
Favorite USC Marshall Core Class:
Pretty tough to chose one, but Managerial Statistics was really interesting and fun. It fundamentally changed the way I mentally work through an analysis. Our Prof. had a great sense of humor and taught Statistics from a conceptual rather than a number-crunching perspective, so it was very interesting and engaging.
Favorite USC Marshall experience:
Case competitions! We had Case Competitions tailored right into Admit Weekend, Orientation and even the Marketing course and I relished each of those experiences. Marshall has a solid Case Competition preparation program, which lets us win a shockingly high number of competitions year after year!
What you wish you knew before attending business school?
Time-management. The skill to effectively manage your time and your priorities is pure gold! Practice it before commencing business school.
