I have always had a love for numbers but it wasn’t until high school did I decide to pursue a career in accounting. I had an internship at a local accounting firm in New Jersey and that is where I was introduced to accounting and encouraged to attend Boston College. BC gave me an extremely solid foundation in accounting and after interning with Deloitte for two years, and accepting a job offer, I decided to pursue my Master of Accounting. I wanted to make sure I chose a program that was highly regarded, with reputable professors, and a strong network. The MAcc program in The Leventhal School of Accounting was that program. Although I knew I would benefit greatly from coming here, I was hesitant because I had never been to the West Coast. Ultimately I decided that since I already had my job in New Jersey, it wouldn’t hurt to experience something new for a year. I am so happy I did! The professors are amazing, some of them world-renowned, the classes are interesting, and the LA culture is electric. The Trojan Family network is extensive and very supportive; I’ve already made several connections to USC alumni back in New Jersey. If you have any questions about the MAcc program, the decision-making process, or the area, feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to help.
