Christopher Dickson, MAcc
For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed learning, talking, and reading about business. I enrolled in cognitive science as an undergraduate because I thought I wanted to be a tax attorney and the program was good preparation for law school. However, after a couple years working for a boutique law firm, I was convinced it was the "tax" portion of the career that interested me more than the "legal" portion. Therefore, I declared an accounting minor, and unsurprisingly loved it. After graduating, I decided to test accounting as a career to be sure I liked practicing it as much as learning it (after all, I did not want another "legal-career epiphany"). I worked for two years, first as a bookkeeper, and subsequently as a staff accountant, both of which I enjoyed. Having solidified my belief that accounting was right for me, I applied and enrolled at USC in the MAcc program, and now seek to move into public accounting upon graduation.
