The Food Industry Management Program at the USC Marshall School of Business will honor Larree Renda, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategist and Administrative Officer of Safeway Inc., as the "Food Industry Executive of the Year" at its annual graduation banquet in April.

At a time when California is still trying to pass its budget, enterprise zone (EZ) programs may be on the chopping block as lawmakers debate whether these programs are working. A new study by USC Professors John Ham, Ayse Imrohoroglu and Charles Swenson reveals that these programs are indeed bright spots in areas lagging in economic development and employment in California and the rest of the nation.

Chris DeWolfe, CEO and Co-Founder of MySpace, will share his insights during a live interview with Conde Nast Portfolio. The February 4th event will be held in Hoffman Hall's Edison Auditorium at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7:50; the USC community is invited to attend. DeWolfe received his MBA from the USC Marshall School and will be introduced by Professor Tom O&rsquo;Malia, Director of the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

A team of USC Marshall undergraduates won the second Philip Morris Case Competition in November 2008, a business case competition that pitted the best Marshall presentations against those from students at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management.
