Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I just completed my bachelor’s degree and am really interested in Supply Chain management. Would I be able to enroll in this program as a full time student on campus?
Full-time enrollment at USC requires at least 8 units per semester. This program is scheduled to offer/require only 4.5-7.5 units per semester. Additionally, the experiential learning trips cannot be completed out of sequence. As a result, it is not possible to complete the program at this time as a full-time student. For that reason, international students cannot come to Los Angeles to complete the program on campus.
Q: Do I have to be working?
The program is designed for managers and professionals currently working in or planning to work in the field of Supply Chain Management. Experience is strongly preferred.
Q: Do I need to answer the essay questions and provide recommendation letters if I am a current student?
All applicants -- even current USC students -- are required to respond to the questions posed in the Downloadable Form that corresponds with the M.S. in Global Supply Chain Management program. New letters of recommendation are also required.
Q: What if I took one of the required courses with a degree I completed already?
Coursework used toward a degree completed elsewhere may not be applied toward a master’s degree at USC and may not be repeated at USC. If courses were not used toward a completed degree, four program-related units may be applied, subject to approval by the program director.
Up to 4 units of program-related graduate-level coursework applied to a master’s degree previously completed at USC may be applied to the MSGSCM, subject to approval by the program director. USC coursework taken prior to matriculation to a current USC degree program must have been completed within seven years of admission.
It may be possible to apply more than 4 units of program-related coursework counted toward a certificate program previously completed at USC (e.g., the OSCM) to the MSGSCM. Q: When I log into the Marshall application system it recalls my old application file. How do I change it to apply for the MSGSCM program?
Applying to a new program requires a new profile and password in the application system. If you enter exactly the same name and contact information, the system may find a match and ask if you want to copy information from your original application into the new one. Another option is to open a separate browser and copy/paste information from your MBA application into the new application.

Applying to a new program requires a new profile, password, and application under the Marshall instance of the online admissions system. Much of the required information is the same, so you might want to open two browsers and copy/paste information from your original USC application into the Marshall application.
