Welcome to the PhD Program at the Leventhal School of Accounting at USC.

At the Leventhal School, we take pride in our PhD program, which is one of the finest in the country. For example, the 2006 Public Accounting Report ranked our program 10th in the nation.

Our program is small, exclusive and high quality. Our aim is to place our students in elite research universities in the U.S. and abroad. Toward this end, we devote considerable resources and time towards developing our students. In addition to the excellent training and resources, PhD students work closely with our highly acclaimed faculty on research projects from an early stage in the program. Therefore, in addition to their dissertations, most of our students have authored one or more research papers during their tenure at Leventhal, which are often published in major journals before their graduation. Our students have also been consistent recipients of coveted national fellowships.

As testimony to the quality of our program, many of our students have received multiple job offers from top research universities in the country and abroad prior to graduation. For example, our students have received tenure-track offers from (among others) Columbia, Duke, New York (NYU), Texas-Austin, UCLA, Emory, Washington-Seattle, Washington-St. Louis, Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), Stanford University, MIT and Arizona during the past few years.
