Tommy Knapp returned to his roots at USC after 25 years in the action sports industry. He launched his first company, Club Sportswear, while attending USC, and later started Honoloa Surf Co., which was sold to Billabong. His teaching encompasses all facets of entrepreneurial studies including venture management, feasibility analysis, and business planning and launching. Professor Knapp launched the E-Challenge in 2009 for undergraduate students to become actively involved in a business startup. He received the Golden Apple award in 2009. He served as president of the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association.
