Shawn Kerns transferred to Elk Hills from Qatar in October, 2008, as Asset Development Manager. While in Qatar, he held various leadership roles such as Vice President Operations, Reservoir Enhancement Manager, and Manager of Business Planning. Prior to Qatar, Shawn performed various engineering and technical roles for Occidental in California, Kansas and Oklahoma. Shawn has been employed with Occidental for 19 years.

Shawn is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is also active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

In his spare time, Shawn enjoys coaching youth soccer and playing Golf. Shawn lives in Bakersfield with his wife Laura and their two children, Ryan and Erin.
