Scott Huennekens
CEOCompany:Volcano TherapeuticsScott Huennekens joined Volcano Therapeutics as its 11th employee in April, 2002 as president and CEO. Scott has led Volcano from a pre-revenue start-up to its IPO in June 2006 and current fiscal year guidance of $290+ million.
Before Volcano, Scott was with Digirad for 5 years. As president and CEO, he was responsible for raising $60+M of Venture Capital and leading the company from product development and pre revenue in 1999 to a revenue run rate over $40 million in 2002.
From 1993 to 1997, Scott was at Baxter Healthcare in their Cardiovascular Medical Devices Group (currently Edwards) in various management and sales and marketing positions. Scott is a CPA, and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration from USC, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Scott’s affiliations include board member of BIOCOM, Medical Device Manufacturer’s Association, California Healthcare Institute, and Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Scott was also a 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Winner.
