John Samore, Jr.
John Samore is a 1967 graduate of USC, receiving a BS in accounting. Upon graduation, John went to work for Arthur Andersen and left 10 months later for 3 years of service with the US Army.
He returned to Andersen and became a partner in 1981, then retired in 2002. During his 32 years with Andersen, he advised clients, both public and private, concerning mergers and acquisitions, consolidations, reorganizations, work outs, international and strategic planning. The industries with which he was involved included entertainment, oil and gas, gaming, real estate, hospitality and distribution. John also advised individuals associated with these businesses regarding their personal tax planning.
John has had responsibility for many groups within Andersen when he was a partner (e.g., campus recruiting for the Tax Division (10 years) and had direct responsibility for recruiting at USC. Since retiring, John previously served on the Board of Directors of Farmer Bros. until June 2007, and is presently a consultant to CPA firms, individuals and businesses.
His professional affiliations include the National Association of Corporate Directors, AICPA, and California Society of CPAs. He is a former member of the Association of Corporate Growth. He is a member of Bel Air Country Club, Jonathan Club, and a past member of the Regency Club.
