- John has significant experience in film and television production and distribution, music, broadcast, cable and satellite, new media and the convergence of media and entertainment with software and technology.
- He has an in-depth background working with large multinational public companies across many industries, advising them during transactions including mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings. John has also led several initiatives to interview the world’s leading media and entertainment industry C-Suite executives resulting in a series of C-Suite publications of thought leadership, the most recent titled, “Opportunity and optimism: How CEOs are embracing digital growth.”
- Considered one of the foremost authorities on trends, issues and challenges facing the media and entertainment industry, John is a frequent speaker at industry events and is often quoted in industry and business publications. He is also visible as a key Ernst & Young representative at the Emmy®, Golden Globe® and American Music Awards shows; for many years, Ernst & Young has tabulated the votes for these award shows and presented the winners’ envelopes to the presenters the night of the awards.
- His current and past clients include Sony Corporation and News Corporation.
- John has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Durham University in the UK.
- He is a CPA in California and a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
- John is a past Chairman of the California Society of CPAs Entertainment and Sports Committee University in the UK. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Chadwick School, Executive Committee Member of the USC Marshall School of Business - Sports Business Institute, and a member of the Paley Center for Media.
- John, his wife Janine, and their three children live in Los Angeles.
