Fredric M. Magner
Fred Magner is the former Chief Information Officer of Unocal, a global energy company. At Unocal, he led the transformation of information technology from a second-tier support function to a key element of company-wide strategy. By the time of Chevron’s acquisition of Unocal, Fred’s responsibilities had grown to include the integration of all business support functions as part of a corporate transformation initiative.
Prior to Unocal, he was vice president and General Manager of the Services Division at Treasury Services Corporation (TSC). At TSC, Fred significantly improved service quality, profit margin, and client satisfaction. When Oracle acquired TSC to provide the foundation for Oracle Financial Services, his responsibilities shifted to global market development and deployment.
Before Treasury Services, Fred was Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chairman at First Interstate Bancorp, where he primarily focused on corporate restructuring, helping transform the company to a top performer.
Additional roles at First Interstate included SVP of Account and Product Management for First Interstate System and Vice President and Development Division Manager for First Interstate Services Company.
He was a Marketing Representative at IBM before joining First Interstate. Fred has a BA in International Studies and a MBA from the University of South Carolina as well as a Master of Accountancy from the University of Southern California. He has been listed in Who’s Who In America.
