Shannon Pitzel
The revolution in digital technology created the career opportunity Shannon Pitzel was looking for. Her MBA from USC Marshall got her the job. Ms. Pitzel is a senior financial analyst for Intel, the computer chip giant, and works in its Portland, Oregon operations.
Ms. Pitzel's work in operational finance has put her in contact with Intel's Digital Home Business Unit, a division that includes healthcare initiatives. One device that Intel is pursuing would let people with Alzheimer's Disease insert a microchip into a special digital telephone, allowing the screen to display the names of telephone callers and their relationship to the patient.
Before pursuing an MBA at USC Marshall, Ms. Pitzel worked in IT support for a Seattle-based company. Despite her success, she wanted to improve her skills and combine her valuable knowledge of high tech with business. Intrigued by the 'language' of business, she chose to study finance.
"Once I decided to attend business school, I knew that I needed a strong, well-rounded program. The USC Marshall MBA enabled me to get a great job, doing exactly what I want to do."
