Alison Berglas
After four years of non-stop classes and homework, some students dream of sleeping in and kicking back after earning their degrees. For Alison Berglas, there was no time for that. She landed a job too quickly.
"It's hard to graduate from Marshall and not have a job lined up," says Berglas, who earned her BA from USC with a business minor and a communications major in spring 2006. "They make it fairly easy for students with all their many career resources and databases at our disposal."
Berglas, a Thousand Oaks, Calif., native, began working in summer 2006 in her chosen profession: commercial real estate. She was fortunate to receive multiple job offers and she accepted one from Cushman & Wakefield in downtown Los Angeles, where she is a junior broker in the investment sales division.
While at Marshall, Berglas participated in the mentorship Career Advantage Program, receiving job interview advice and other knowledge from a real estate industry veteran. Meanwhile, she continues to network with Trojan professionals working in her field. "The career connections that you get through the Marshall school are incredible," Berglas says.
