Marin Babb
When you receive degrees from three colleges in the time many people complete one, it’s safe to say that you have wrung every last drop out of your college experience. Marin Babb managed that feat, picking up degrees from USC Marshall School of Business and USC School of Cinema-Television in May 2006, while never receiving any grade lower than an A. She’s nearly finished with an English degree in the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, and will finish that degree this fall.
Babb, of Woodland Hills, CA, is not a student who kept adding courses and majors as she went on. From the day she applied to USC, she knew she wanted degrees in business, cinema and English. What she didn’t anticipate was how much she would like her business classes, particularly accounting and math.
"It’s a really neat culture at Marshall where the students challenge each other and are competitive, but are friends, too," she says.
Babb was recognized as Marshall’s outstanding undergraduate student last year for her academic accomplishments and the raft of extracurricular activities and service projects she has managed to squeeze in.
She is already working on plans for graduate school, where she will (no surprise here) be going for a two-fer: a joint JD and MBA.
